J GROUP

J1 Rider I.C.E Rough terrain masted lift truck.
J2 Rider I.C.E Rough terrain variable reach lift trucks - up to 9m lift 2 or 4 wheel / articulated. J3 Rider I.C.E Rough terrain high lift telescopic trucks -above 9m lift 2 or 4 wheel / articulated.
J4 Rider I.C.E Industrial variable reach lift trucks - up to 9m lift 2 or 4 wheel steer.
J5 Rider I.C.E Industrial high lift telescopic lift trucks - above 9m lift 2 or 4 wheel steer.
J6 Rider I.C.E variable reach / telescopic, rotating turret - under 9m lift 2 or 4 wheel steer. J7 Rider I.C.E variable reach / telescopic, rotating turret -over 9m lift 2 or 4 wheel steer.

M GROUP

P GROUP

Note J6 & J7:Training on attachment must only be carried out by a qualified instructor who holds operating certificates for specific attachments.

Note 1:Rider operateted may be by sit on or stand on operator.

Note 2: Trucks with optional rider or pedestrian operation are classed as rider operated.

Note 3:Low lift is defined as lifting just sufficient to permit horizontal travel.

Note 4:Medium lift is defined as lifting not more than 2.5 mtr.

Note 5: * = excluding container handling trucks.

Note 6: Where relevant, groupings should be qualified on the operator certificates by suffixes

    Viz : E - electric powered.

  :      A  automatic gearbox.

   :    M- manual gearbox.

Note 7: The addition of some attachments may change the classification of a truck e.g a swivelling reach attachment.

Note 8: Added to the prefix ' T ' should be the actual truck group e.g TB 1 - Transportable Counterbalance up to 5 tonne. TC 1 - Transportable sideloader up to 3 tonne.
